Fitness Diaries: Day 1

So some of you know I have started a 12-week workout regime in the “Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide.” I just got it in my email a few days ago, since it is an ebook, so I will now be tracking my progress through these “diary entries” that will all be on the Fitness page on my blog here. So now that I read over the book in general and the H.E.L.P. nutrition guide, and finished the first few days of the fitness regime, I have some things to say about it.

There are indeed many positive aspects of this ebook. The first thing I have to say about it is that it is very organized and very neat. It is easy to find anything in the book. It is very easy to follow and understand, and has clear instructions on everything. The actual workout program is easy to follow, and it totally kickass. On the first day of the program, I had to go outside 3 times in between workouts because I was getting way too sweaty and hot. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I like doing my workouts inside even if it is super hot.

I feel like this program is going to totally kick my butt, and that is exactly why I bought it. I felt like the first workout program I did (the Hasfit 30 Days To Get In Shape Workout Challenge) was extremely easy. Although I did attain quite nice abs and lost much stomach fat from that program, I really wanted something that could push me further so I could achieve more. After just doing one day of the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide, I could almost die from exhaustion, and I loved it! That was a few days ago, and I am STILL sore.

There are indeed many cons to this ebook, but it is probably because I haven’t scrutinized it enough to know all the wonderful aspects of this book, and I am quite cynical when it comes to product reviews.

First off, this ebook is EXTREMELY expensive, but only if you buy it on the actual website: I would highly suggest buying it from somewhere else since it is an ebook, so it can be transferred easily online. On the actual website, it costs about $120 Australian dollars which is about $112 in U.S. dollars for both the Bikini Body Guide and the H.E.L.P. nutrition and diet guide. I bought it on ebay for approximately $2.50. See what I’m getting at here? I also believe it is overpriced since it is not an actual, physical, book so it should cost less anyway. I find it slightly hard to read on a computer or tablet since you would have to scroll for a very long time through the pages to find the one you want, so I actually had my dad print out all 220 pages of both of the books.

After reading through the Bikini Body Guide, I also found it quite vague on the exact workout regime. There are actually barely any descriptions of anything in the book, and I found it quite uneducational. I actually thought the instructor on my old workout website, Hasfit, did a better job at explaining what muscles he was working on and precisely what his workouts targeted. In these workouts, you can only tell what you are working on once you actually do the workout and you can say, “oh yea, this kind of hurts my calves, but I guess that’s what I’m supposed to be working on right now”. Overall, it kind of just feels like you have to just follow the workout regime without actually knowing what you are working on.

Overall, I actually love this book a lot. It will totally kick my butt for the next 12 weeks, or at least until school work piles up too much for me to have time for working out. I love the design for the book, even though it is very minimalist. I would indeed suggest trying out this workout program if you want a nice body, but do not buy it on the actual website since it is quite expensive. Definitely buy it from ebay or anywhere else.

But seriously, I just love exercising, but I hate it. You see my problem?

Blog Updates

I hope you have noticed the new format to the blog by now. I really like the header, it looks super professional 🙂 I wanted to change the blog’s format because I wanted a sidebar so it would be easier to located the follow button and what not, and I wanted the blog to look more professional. This is just one big step in my process to making the blog much more updated.

You may have also noticed that I changed the byline to my blog, which is the little caption underneath the title. Instead of simply saying “fashion blog”, it is now “fashion, fitness, and lifestyle”. Instead of just writing about fashion and beauty, I decided to extend my areas of blogging, and this new byline will remind me of my set ideas for this blog. I think it could be a nice motto. Since I added fitness to my blog, I’m going to make a new fitness page (yay!). My major area of interest for this page is going to be my progress in completing this 90 day workout challenge from a book called “Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide”. Of course I will also post things such as daily workouts, diet plans and recipes, and how to live a healthy lifestyle. I only recently got interested in fitness, so I don’t have too much legitimate information yet, so please bare with me!

Otherwise, I hope you guys really like the new format for the blog, I personally do. In the future, I may also add a makeup page again since it is summer so I have time to learn about makeup techniques. I might also add a page for more emotional areas, such as confidence boosters, motivation, my advice on life, and all that stuff. Still, I will mostly focus and fashion though, but I hope these new subjects in my blog posts will attract more followers and viewers for my blog. As I said in my last post, I am hoping to make my blog more organized and professional, so that I can expand it to new places and help others.

Lastly, thank you so much to all my followers for sticking by my side for the last year as my blog developed. Without you guys, I seriously would not be where I am right now. You guys are so amazing and supportive, and I am so glad that I have such amazing subscribers like you guys. Please tell all your friends about my blog, and again, thank you guys so much!

My Blog’s Story

When I first created this blog, I had no set goal for what I wanted to do and it was very disorganized. I posted random things and had no template for my blog. A year later, not much has really changed. I still post random things and do not have a template for my posts. But this summer, I want to develop my blog fully and make it more organized.

So I’ll start at the beginning again.

Hi, my name is Angela. I live in San Diego, California and I am currently 15 year old. My interests include synchronized ice skating, art, and blogging. My main topics for this blog will include fashion, beauty, makeup, and fitness. Let me elaborate on each topic.

As you have heard many times from many different people, everybody wants to fit in right? But not only does everyone want to fit in, but everyone also wants to be unique. Kind of ironic right? I have always shunned myself for my past fashion sense; it changes so much every year. Starting in 9th grade, I started catching up with fashion trends. Well what do I mean by catching up? For example, when I was in 8th grade, I wore like colored skinny jeans and plain color shirts. Normal 8th graders wore skirts, denim shorts, and even the occasional crop top. I never did my hair or makeup, and I did not shave or use deodorant.

In 9th grade, I kind of followed regular fashion trends closely. I started wearing shorts regularly and NOT wearing the same outfit every week. I dip-dyed my hair purple, then dyed all of my hair brown. I started doing makeup and straightening my hair every day. I still sometimes felt out of place with my strange fashion sense, but I mostly liked my clothing and payed very careful attention to my outfits. Now changing from middle school to high school is really big. I feel like it changed me a lot. I definitely looked way older and more mature in terms of fashion and physical appearance by the end of 9th grade. Very common outfits in 9th grade included crop tops, maxi skirts, skater skirts, cardigans, and high-waisted shorts. But I still did not have think much of wearing that type of clothing.

My fashion sense changed the most in my sophomore year of high school. Many may believe that there are always a group of “popular girls” in their school and that they are such “white girls”. This is the belief that I base most of my posts off of. So when I say an item is “popular” and a “new trend”, I am alluding to the fact that these “popular, white girls” have started to wear these. My own fashion sense is mostly based off of these so called “white girls”. What does that mean? It means I wanted to fit in and be popular, but only fashion-wise. My freshman year of high school was when I had a hard time getting along with my “group of friends”. We would constantly get in fights and do mean things to each other. I feel like that was one of the reasons why I didn’t care so much to fit in in 9th grade but rather to just find a good group of friends that will always be there for me.

In 10th grade is when my group of friends started conforming to each other and accepting each other. Therefore, that was not really a problem for me anymore. So I decided to focus on what I really loved-fashion. I wasn’t striving for a “unique” fashion sense but rather a “mainstream” one since I never really had a “mainstream” fashion sense. I’m hoping that in the future, it will develop into a unique type that will lead me on my way to the fashion industry. But for now I can just accept the fact that I “dress like a white girl” according to many people.

I think having a fashion blog really helped me keep my fashion sense in order so that I know exactly what I want to be. Not only that, but I would really love to help other people “develop” their fashion sense. I see it this way; developing a fashion sense is like developing the ability to play a sport well. You have to practice a lot, and not be afraid to take risks. You have to be willing to want to get better, and you have to have a methodical and effective way of improving. I believe that this blog can be that way of helping people develop their fashion sense.

Firstly, beauty relates to makeup, hygiene, and basically anything in the bathroom. So I started experimenting with beauty products in 9th grade. I always had an interest in beauty, but never really got to cultivating my curiousness. I guess after seeing so many upperclassmen who used beauty products made me want to start trying these things too. I also I believe I am a late boomer when it comes to the age in which I start using beauty products. Like for example, my mom never believed I needed to shave my legs because I’m Asian and she says “Asians barely have any leg hair”. Well obviously she had never seen my legs, because they looked like forests. So I started questioning the forests I had on my legs in 10th grade, which is indeed really late. Now I’m glad I found out that teen girls regularly shave their legs, because if I didn’t, I would still have trees on my legs.

Also, I actually only started using exfoliating face wash when my doctor recommended it. That was about 3 years ago. I guess it was because I had more acne than my genetics allowed, and I am so thankful for it. If I didn’t learn how to clean my face, I would have much more acne. I still believe that I learned about it too late though. I also started experimenting with simple makeup in 9th grade. I liked to use liquid eyeliner on a regular basis, although it wasn’t even noticeable. I watched many many many many makeup videos, but then did I only realize that my eye shape makes applying makeup SO hard. What I mean by this is that I have fat almond shaped eyes, and my eyelids are extremely puffy. Not only that, but I have double eyelids, meaning I have a flap of skin over my eyelid, so eyeliner doesn’t actually show up. That basically cancelled out eyeliner and eye shadow as good makeup for me. I think I have posted something about double eyelids before, and they are the reason why I pretty much quit trying to use eye shadow.

I also did not know how to shape my eyebrows until literally the beginning of this year. No one simply ever told me eyebrows were so important. So not only did I have forests on my legs, but I also had jungles on my face until the middle to end of my sophomore year of high school. I am still extremely bad at plucking my eyebrows, so if you ever need someone to ruin your eyebrows, hit me up.

My beauty products story is quite short since it started only well over a year ago, and that is no thanks to anyone BUT Youtube videos. I am glad that I found out about these things though, because I feel like I am really growing up.

Fitness is literally one of my top priorities starting only this summer. I never really cared about how my body looked before since I am pretty skinny (mostly because of genetics), but also because I feel like I really wasn’t getting any fatter. I only felt like I was getting less fit when my mom told me once that I was getting “choppy”. Let me just say moms are brutally honest; if it wasn’t true, she wouldn’t have said it. Before I started caring about fitness, I also felt like I had a healthy lifestyle. I stopped eating hamburgers and most fast foods a few year ago, and I rarely drank soda. But that didn’t keep me from inhaling WAY too many carbs and sugars, since I was quite lacking on the junk food. Now, my sugar inhalation has decreased greatly, but I feel is still not at a very healthy level.

One of the many reasons I started fitness was because last summer, my sister actually completed many fitness programs. I really didn’t see any difference in her physical appearance, but it really got me interested in it. This school year, I felt like it would actually be really great to live a healthy lifestyle (and not to mention have a six pack). Once I reached over 100 lbs (don’t judge me), I really did feel start not liking my body. I felt my fat was unevenly layered throughout my body, there was too much skinny in some places and too much fat in other places. Besides, there are so many great health benefits to working out and doing fitness every day.

I have probably said this before, but I am an ice skater, therefore I pretty much solely use my legs in my sport. What does that mean? It means I have IRON THIGHS and my leg muscles are super unproportional to my upper body. I didn’t feel like I could style clothes as well because of this imbalance, and I really wanted to get a nice body. Not only that, but it also helped me find motivation to achieve a goal in life. I started losing purpose to many of the things I did, so I made a new purpose. After about a month of regular fitness training, I feel so much better and so much more motivated to continue living a healthy lifestyle. I feel like I really accomplished something and that I can really achieve more if I have the right mindset.

Here are my before and after pictures of 30 days of regular workouts and fitness training.

progress 2

Well that was basically the story of how this blog came to be. Now that I feel like I have established my purpose and main ideas for this blog, I feel like I should organize it. I really probably create a new fitness page since I am quite in love with fitness at the moment, and hopefully post more and keep an organized blog. I can’t thank you guys enough for sticking to my blog and supporting me so much! If you have any ideas for new things I should add on this blog, don’t be afraid to comment below! I am always up for new ideas. I would love to diversify my blog to more subjects than just beauty, fashion, and fitness!

Hey guys, sorry I haven’t posted in a long time. I went on vacation to Las Vegas for a while. Anyway, I found this swimwear website that sells the CUTEST bikinis in the whole world! They became super popular last summer and now everyone is getting them this summer. The website is Their bikinis are a bit expensive, around $80 or $90. They are made out of neoprene, which is the stuff that wetsuits are made out of. They are super durable and super in-style. If you want to buy one, you should size up on the bottoms because I heard they are a little low-cut and small.

I kind of REALLY want one, but they are way to expensive for me to afford. But it doesn’t mean I can’t share it with you 🙂 These are the best styles they have on their website.

If you don’t want to spend almost $100 on these cute thangs, you can find dupes in many places. The best one I’ve heard of so far is on Unfortunately, these ship from China so they take like a month to ship, and you have to go to the post office to retrieve them.

triangl dupe

There is a review for an aliexpress Triangl dupe bikini here:

If you are going to buy things from, I HIGHLY suggest you check the feedback and seller ratings before buying things, because some dupes are really bad quality. The most reliable sellers are the usually at the top of the list when you search up something. Also, the more expensive it is on aliexpress, the better quality it is. I do suggest buying things that are a bit more expensive, because things on aliexpress really aren’t that expensive in general.

Another website where I found a Triangl bikini dupe is on Their swimwear is on sale right now, so they are only selling white Triangl dupes in M and L at the moment. Hopefully when the sale is over, there will be more colors and sizes in stock.

Another website where you can find Trianl dupes is Unfortunately, they also have limited sizing and colors at the moment.

You can also find them on Amazon, but I highly suggest buying the Aliexpress ones instead of the Amazon dupes. They don’t get too good ratings and don’t look as legit as the Aliexpress ones. The only bad thing about Aliexpress is the shipping takes a really long time, but it should be worth it 🙂

Hope you enjoyed the post!

Outfit of the Day

This dress is more my new obsession rather than outfit of the day. I want this dress so so so badly, it is absolutely gorgeous ❤

It is from Brandy Melville, but it is an old design, so they don’t sell it anymore. I have found it on Instagram shops and Poshmark, but I didn’t have (and still don’t have) any money to buy it. I’ll just be patient and wait for the money to roll in before buying it 🙂

It will probably make me look super short, and I am already super short. But whatever, because it’s so pretty! I would pair it with Doc Martins or some type of ankle boots, or just plain white Vans.

Getting In Shape

High school is a time of self-consciousness, discovering what you want to do in the future, love and hate, and change. At times, you may not accept yourself for who you are. Although people say this is a bad thing, it can also be motivation for good change. As of now, my dislike of my bodily image is my motivation for getting in shape-the right way.

What is the right way? Changing my diet, not GOING on a diet. Working out on a daily basis. Exercising more often. I will eat more fruits and vegetables, I will eat less sugars and carbohydrates. But I will NOT cut corners by skipping meals. Although this path is the hard way, it is the right way, and I am willing to take it.

But what don’t you like about yourself Angela? Being 15 years old, 5’1 and 104 lbs, you might think that I like the way I look. Well it all starts with ice skating. First of all, it made my thighs super huge, which is not a bad thing since it means I have stronger legs, but now my thighs are very out of proportion compared to my upper body. You may think I am exaggerating, but knowing your goals is very important if you want to achieve something. Anyway, what I really want to improve is my posture and upper body strength. Now that I am on a senior level(the highest level) synchronized skating team, that means I have to GREATLY improve my posture, upper body strength, and endurance.

I have never really “tried” to get in shape before, so I am trying a workout program called the 30 Days Challenge To Get In Shape on I love this website because it’s workout programs are all completely free and the instructors are super motivational and helpful. Last year, my sister did the 30 Days To Get Six Pack Abs fitness program twice(2 months!) and she didn’t seem to have a six pack by the end of the program. I am not sure if the problem was her or the actual program, but I feel I can really achieve a lot if I stick to my program and add some extra cardio workouts, ab workouts, and upper body workouts.

If you know more about this stuff, I would really love some advice and pointers, because I have all the motivation but none of the knowledge. It would be super helpful, just comment below!

Anyway, the point of this post is that I haven’t written any posts about workout clothing in a long time, so it’s a perfect time to make another one. So this is what I wear when I workout:

Forever 21 Slouchy Racerback Workout Tank in Gray (Heather grey) - Lyst

Forever 21 $9 Gray Slouchy Racerback Workout Tank

Forever 21 Low Impact Strappy Back Studio Bra in Black (Black/neon blue) - Lyst

Forever 21 $15 Black Low Impact Strappy Back Studio Bra

Boogie Short

Lululemon $42 Boogie Short

Nike Free TR Fit 3 - Women's - Black/Club Pink/Atomic Pink/Metallic Summit White

Nike $80 Nike Free TR Fit 3

I find this outfit super comfortable, but I would prefer a fitted tank top instead of a loose one like the one I have. Most of the workout clothing I buy is from Forever 21 because their activewear is super cheap, high quality, and stylish. Here are some suggestions:

Forever 21 $15 Padded Workout Tank

Forever 21 $15
Padded Workout Tank

Forever 21 $11 Seamless Racerback Run Tank

Forever 21 $11
Seamless Racerback Run Tank

RUN:Swiftly Racerback

Lululemon $48 Run: Swiftly Tech Racerback

For bottoms, I would only wear spandex when running and dance. If you think spandex are unflattering, you can also wear 3/4th cropped pants aka capris. I like these capris because you can wear them to school with pretty much anything to give yourself a sporty look.

In The Flow Crop II

Lululemon $78 In The Flow Crop II

Forever 21 $20 Reflective Performance Capris

Forever 21 $20
Reflective Performance Capris

And if you think you have a nice butt and nice thighs and nice legs in general, you should wear leggings. But honestly, I cannot pull those off… so I’ll just stick with spandex for now.

Forever 21 $20 Side-Pocket Skinny Workout Leggings

Forever 21 $20
Side-Pocket Skinny Workout Leggings

If you workout, you will probably get warm within the first 5 minutes. So I do not suggest wearing long sleeve clothing or full length pants. But if you are exercising in a cold environment, wear a light jacket. I have an (overpriced) Lululemon jacket, but here is a cheaper option 🙂

Forever 21 $25 Full Zip Running Jacket

Forever 21 $25
Full Zip Running Jacket

Forme Jacket

Lululemon $108 Forme Jacket

For socks, I would go Nike all the way 🙂 Who even cares about the price at this point, the shoes and socks are all about the Nike. (I know I am giving terrible advice)

Nike Dri-FIT Half-Cushion Crew (3 Pair) Training Socks

Nike Training Socks (3 pairs) $18

And shoes. The most important part of your outfit. How did this post change from my workout outfit to a full on outfit-picking post? Oh well. Ok, so everyone LOVES gorgeous beautiful Nike shoe porn. But you have to figure out which shoe functions best for you.

Training shoes have TERRIBLE support, so don’t expect to run 10 miles in them, they are mainly for small things like walks and working out. They are much more thin because of less support. I have beautiful training shoes, but honestly they hurt after a while running in them… Also, Nike sells the most beautiful training shoes ever:

Nike Free TR Fit 4 Print Women's Training Shoe

Nike Free TR Fit 4 Print $105

Nike Free TR Fit 4 Print Women's Training Shoe

Nike Free TR Fit 4 Print $105

It hurts how beautiful they are…

Running shoes have much more support. If you are in track and field or cross country, I suggest getting these. (I have no experience, you probably shouldn’t listen to me)

Nike Flyknit Air Max Women's Running Shoe

Nike Flyknit Air Max $225

Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit Women's Running Shoe

Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit $120

Honestly these shoes make mine look like pieces of crap because they are gorgeous… Just remember, having nice workout clothes will not make you better at working out. You can only get better by working hard, not by looking good. Remember that now! The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday 🙂

Ok well that’s pretty much it for workout clothes. If I keep looking at clothes, I will be too tempted to buy more. Thanks for following my blog and check for more posts and updates later!
